Volunteer with RPS

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Richmond Public Schools!

We have opportunities for everyone, whether you want to volunteer as an individual or as part of a group, regularly or just once in a while! There are opportunities for everyone who wants to support our Strategic Plan, Dreams4RPS, to make RPS the best we can be!

Volunteer Application
Fill out our online RPS Volunteer Application to get started. Click here to complete the application in Spanish. (Complete nuestra solicitud de voluntariado de RPS en línea para comenzar. Haga clic aquí para completar la solicitud en español.)

Volunteer applications can be submitted year-round and you will receive automated replies that your application was successfully received. All applications are manually reviewed by RPS staff to ensure that all volunteer requirements are satisfied. Once your application is approved, you will be placed at a school and introduced to your volunteer point of contact, who will follow up to schedule your first volunteer visit.

Volunteer applications are reviewed regularly and you should expect to hear from us within 1-2 weeks of submitting your application.

Volunteer applications received during RPS breaks, including summer and winter breaks, may take longer to approve but we will be in touch once our school-based staff are ready to welcome you!

Please also note that if you apply to volunteer more than halfway through a semester, you may not be able to begin volunteering until the following semester, as our volunteer orientations are only offered from July to November and from January to March.
